Role of the Public Relations (PR) Officer

The Public Relations Officer shall:

Required Skills to Successfully Fulfill Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Act as the liaison for external communications between SGA and the Mount Holyoke College community",
  2. Address promotional emails as well as emails coming from Communications Office and sga-newslush,
  3. Interact with students on social media,
  4. Hold meetings with members of administration or faculty
  5. Collaborate with other social media groups (eg. @mtholyoke and @mhcstudentlife)

Make public announcements concerning all general meetings of SGA and other information pertinent to SGA,

  1. Need to produce and/or distribute announcements under short notice
  2. Instagram (post high-quality photos & announcements)
  3. Facebook (post events)

Supervise the holistic image of SGA, which includes but is not limited to: Creating or approving posters, flyers, and other promotional materials at the request of Executive Board, Senators, and Committee Members, Updating and maintaining the SGA website and social media pages on at least a bi-weekly basis, and including announcements, events, and Senate minutes",

  1. Use design software programs,
  2. Upload senate minutes onto the SGA website,
  3. Work with digital photography.
  4. Design posters, flyers, etc.,
  5. Design ways to create greater transparency with the Mount Holyoke College community (eg. tabling with the assistance of E-Board members, etc.)

Produce and distribute the Newsflush on, at least, a monthly basis,

  1. Ensure that all event announcements are accurate and spelled correctly,
  2. Divide Newslfush between each residential hall and distribute to hall senators.
