The Chair of Special Interests shall:
Collaborate with the Public Relations Officer to ensure that Special Interest Groups are well informed of their right to be represented in Senate, if desired,
- Examine the different ways in which SGA could inform student groups of their right to be represented at Senate
- Communicate with different groups on campus in non-traditional ways to inform them of the rights and benefits that they would get from representation in Senate
Maintain an accurate list, e-mail list, and attendance roster of all Special Interest Groups, their Senators and their alternates, and their respective attendance,
- Ensure Senators that are maintaining responsibilities, and checking in with those that might need support
Act as a resource for Special Interest groups on issues regarding Senate representation,
- Understanding of the Senate space,
- When assisting to plan Senate and ensuring that it is able to be a space to advocate for the student body,
Collaborate with Chair of Halls and Senate to plan and execute Senate meetings on a weekly basis
- Communicate with the Chair of Halls and Chair of Senate regarding tasks, ideas, and roles within the Senate space
- Delegate tasks within the Senate Team related to planning Senate on a weekly basis
Collaborate with the Executive Board to execute projects and advocate for the student body, including following up on student concerns
- Communicate with the other Executive Board members about tasks, expectations, and responsibilities,
- Communicate with other Executive Board members about delegating work relating to projects and goals,
- Collaborate with a diverse set of working styles and personalities.
