Frequently Asked Questions

Changes to Fall 2023 Funding

Please see W&M Guidelines for updates!

One important change to note:

  • Speakers/Performers are no longer funded based on percentages, they are now funded based on a $2000 cap for the semester.
  • Who can submit a budget for org funding?

Only Authorized Signers with an Authorized Signer tag on Embark should be applying for funding. You must have completed the Ways and Means Training AND SGA Business Office Training to become an Authorized Signer. If you have not, the Ways & Means Committee will not be able to allocate you funding.

  • What if I apply in the wrong budget or submit my application past the deadline?

If you apply in the wrong month or past the deadline, the Ways & Means Committee does not even see the application. Per our guidelines, approved by Senate and the Office of Student Involvement, groups that apply late or in the wrong budget will not receive funds for those requests.

  • How do I contact the SGA Business Office?

Visit the SGA Business Office website and information for additional funding guidelines.

  • Do you refund shipping?

No. We do not fund ANY shipping or tax.

  • Where can I find the financial trainings?

There are two: Ways & Means training and SGA Business Office training.

  • Where can I find the guidelines?

The Ways and Means guidelines for each year can be found on our website under the Resources tab or here.

  • How do I write a Proof of Pricing?

The Ways and Means Committee provides a Proof of Pricing Template and Sample Proof of Pricing for your convenience.
