Dear students,
We look forward to welcoming you all back to campus for the start of the 2023-2024 academic year soon!
We have been working hard preparing for your arrival, both for new students who will soon participate in Orientation and returning students.
We are kicking off the school year with Welcome MoHome, our weeks of welcome happening from classes start until Family and Friends Weekend! Make sure to bookmark the Embark events page and check out all of the ways you can connect to new people, explore Mount Holyoke traditions and events, and much more!
Then, follow and share your Welcome MoHome experiences with @MHCStudentLife, using the hashtags #WelcomeMoHome and #MyMoHome on Instagram! Mid-September, we will do a random drawing of all those who’ve used those hashtags to win some MHC swag. Also, be on the lookout on our social media for a room decorating contest!
Health and Safety
As you prepare to return to campus, a reminder that you can find information about the College’s COVID procedures on the student COVID-19 webpage. We encourage you to bring any rapid test kits and/or KN95 masks that you may need or want.
On the webpage, you will find information about what to do if you test positive for COVID prior to your arrival to campus and once the semester has started (both residential and off-campus students). Please review the protocols in depth and note that:
- Students who test positive for COVID prior to semester start and or prior to moving to campus must delay arriving/moving to campus. Residential students who need to move in late due to COVID infection must fill out this late arrival form in order to notify Residential Life of your late arrival.
- The protocol for residential students without a roommate and those with a roommate(s) is slightly different in regards to the actions to take prior to coming to campus. Please make sure you thoroughly review what to do!
- If you are an immunocompromised student and or have other long-term or chronic disabilities, please be in contact with Disability Services to submit the necessary documentation for accommodations.
Due to a warmer spring and a rainy summer, western Massachusetts has seen an increase in tick and mosquito activity. While bothersome at the least, these insects can spread infectious diseases.
- We encourage you to pack the mosquito and tick repellent of your choice.
- The College is supplying limited amounts of repellent for community members to apply outside the following locations: Blanchard Hall, Kendall Sports and Dance Complex, and Mary Woolley Hall. We’ll also have additional options located at Orientation events.
- You can find additional information on the Mosquito and Tick Precautions page.
