Mission and Purpose Statement

Mission:

"For the students, by the students", the Students of Color Committee's (S.O.C.C.) mission is to serve as a bridge between the students of color on campus and stakeholders such as Student Government Association, the Division of Student Affairs, the Office of the President, Office of Advancement, and the Board of Trustees. As Mount Holyoke College prides itself on diversity and inclusion, the SOCC seeks to strengthen the relationship between the administration and students of color on campus.

Purpose:

1. To promote equitable representation for students of color at Mount Holyoke.

2. To promote student involvement of students of color in leadership roles and highlight students' of color voices.

3. Host annual events that empower students of color on campus and provide them with an opportunity to dialogue and share their lived experiences both on and off-campus.

4. To promote collaboration and support of students of color within the Five College consortium.
