To help guide you through Orientation, we have created an event app through Embark.
From one of the links below, download and open the "CampusGroups" app. You will be prompted to complete the app overview/tutorial. Allow "notifications" (this will allow you to receive any announcements (location changes, etc.)
Type "Mount Holyoke College" in the search bar, and select "MHC Fall Orientation 2021" on the next page.
Select "Mount Holyoke Login" and on the next page, sign in with your MHC username and password.
Once logged in, you will see be taken to the "Feed," or the home screen for Embark. You will see schedules and resources listed on the menu bar.

This program is designed to offer students a space to engage in necessary dialogues on race, racism, and other forms of oppression to cultivate a dynamic, engaged, and inclusive community that enriches the student experience.

We will introduce career development services and resources for students, and engage in thinking about how to being your journey with the CDC!
12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Bring your completed federal tax, state tax, direct deposit and I9-Employment Eligibility forms in order to work on campus. You will need to choose an original form of identification from the list located on the back of the I9 form to present to Payroll representatives, and provide them with a copy of the identification, as well. Only required for students who do not need a visa to enter the U.S.; all international students should attend the work clearance session during International Student Pre-Orientation which will provide information on any documents required for working on campus.

Brittany Rhodes, Director of International Student Advising, and Jenny Medina, Immigration Advisor for International Students, will review immigration regulations that apply to those in the U.S. on a student visa.
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Sophomore students who plan to work on campus must complete required forms during this session (I-9 and federal/state tax forms). Bring your passport and I-20 form (F-1 students) or DS2020 (J-1 students).

Hear from upper-class transfer students about their MHC experience as they answer incoming transfer student questions and share their journeys. Join us for lunch afterwards, too.

New students are already on the guest list, and should NOT register. Registration is for upperclass students who would like to attend. Please note: if you see someone from the class of 2025 registered that is because they did an initial RSVP - those numbers do not count against the capacity number for sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
Join in a tradition that helps you get acquainted with the ins and outs of life at MHC. The only prerequisite is a sense of humor. This is a spirited (and loud!) event with a great deal of cheering as the returning students welcome you into the community.

Adjusting to campus life can be challenging. This program is designed to offer students a strategy to approach each other and engage in collaborative discussions to minimize tension and conflict around uncomfortable topics and to promote MoHarmony. Brought to you by the Counseling Service.

Mount Holyoke College is committed to a campus environment free from bias, discrimination and violence. Sex and gender based discrimination can show up in many forms and this session will provide students skills to identify concerning behavior, intervene to prevent further harm, know where to report incidents and ways to create a safer community. The Title IX team and campus partners will provide students the opportunity to problem solve scenarios and become familiar with campus policies and resources. Content warning: this session covers issues of relationship and sexual violence.
You will join this Zoom webinar from your room or any location on campus where you want to log-in and participate. We will also have Hooker Auditorium open for those who want to participate together.
This session will cover academic resources, keys to transitioning to MHC academics, general academic success tips, and a reflection on the kind of learner you are. It will also include more information about first year seminars, and what to expect.

With your Orientation small groups, explore the different resources found near Lower Lake. Get a glimpse into projects done at the Makerspace, wander through the Art Museum on a scavenger hunt, and grab your first year plant at the Botanic Garden!

Join your Re-Orientation Leaders and the sophomores in your group to connect! Join your Orientation Leader and other members of your orientation group! You'll start in the Dining Commons and then will be meeting on Skinner Green.
7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Students will meet in the common areas of their residence halls to get to know their staff and fellow new students. Then they will walk over together to the Honor Code Ceremony.

Students will have an opportunity to enjoy great food, games, and activities while visiting each Cultural Center, the Unity Center and Eliot House in order to learn more about the resources, programs, and affiliated student organizations in each space.

All students who have been identified as needing a Tuberculosis screening are required to do so at the Health Center. Students will have been notified over the summer or upon check-in at orientation. Students needing the screening can go to the Health Center during these times, no appointment needed.

The MHC Counseling Service aims to help students achieve their educational and personal goals and be their healthiest selves. "Counseling" though, may not be familiar to all students, as it is not common practice in some countries, cultures or families. Stop by the Pattie Groves Health center building and join the Counseling Service staff for an open house. Meet some of the counselors to learn about their interests, and what languages they speak. This is a great opportunity to discover how the Counseling Service can provide support and guidance to help you succeed at MHC.
