About Us

The mission of Mount Holyoke College History Journal is to cultivate and showcase the diverse historical research and writing of Mount Holyoke and other college students by providing an inclusive, low-stakes platform for exploring various concentrations, developing scholarly skills, and publishing academic work, especially capstone theses. We aim to be a safe space for students to pursue their historical passions and collaborate with like-minded peers. We hope to foster a love for history and be a historical society that all students feel welcome to participate in.

Members Benefits

Membership benefits include a welcoming and supportive space where students can discuss their interests and passions related to history and other fields. The history journal provides students with a structured platform to explore various topics across different time periods and regions at a low-pressure level. This allows history majors to practice their research and writing skills while contributing to their specialization, and it gives students from other majors the chance to engage in interdisciplinary work. Finally, the historical academic journal at Mount Holyoke would offer seniors who have developed a thesis with faculty the opportunity to publish their work.
