Links to Act On: Embark for Testing Sign-Up required twice per week, log-into EMSWebApp by 5pm 01/28/2021 in order to request space on-campus starting 02/01/2021
Hello everyone,
To our new students, welcome MoHome! And to our returning students -- welcome back! We are so glad to have you with us on campus and hope you have a good first day of class.
Please make sure to check your Mount Holyoke email regularly for information specific to your residential student experience. You can anticipate emails coming on Tuesdays, with occasional updates and or need-to-know information coming on other days. Know that you will still receive Word Out on Mondays and Thursdays, MHC This Week on Wednesday, and Dean’s Corner on Friday.
For this week, there are two important items for you to take action on: (1) signing up for your required twice weekly asymptomatic COVID tests, and (2) logging into EMSWebApp, which will allow you to reserve study spaces when additional buildings open February 1st.
United States Presidential Inauguration:
Tomorrow, January 20th, 2021 at noon marks the inauguration of the 46th president and vice president of the United States. We invite you to watch the Inauguration live via youtube while we’re in campus quarantine. We know this is a historic event and we encourage you to show us how you’re marking the day! You can tag or send photos directly to @MHCStudentLife on instagram, or send them via email to emarione@mtholyoke.edu. You’re also welcome to join 4:30pm to 5pm ET with the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life who will hold an Interfaith Prayer and Gathering of Hope via zoom.
In addition we encourage you to read a message from Raymond LeBarre, director of Public Safety and Service, that speaks to our campus safety.
Asymptomatic COVID Testing:
Now that you have all moved onto campus we will begin in full our twice weekly testing protocols for all students on campus. You will each be able to sign up for your own dates and times in Embark. Testing information:
-
You MUST test twice a week
-
Testing is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 7:00am-5:15pm
-
You MUST test once on Monday or Tuesday and once on Thursday or Friday. A Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Friday schedule is ideal.
-
There are limited spaces for each testing slot. You must sign up in Embark to select your testing times.
You will use Embark to self-schedule your tests each week. Please review the complete instructions for scheduling a test here. Here’s an overview of how it works:
-
Every week, you will log into Embark and visit the Event Page. You can search by date or for the words “COVID Testing Sign-Up” to find available slots. At this time, sign-ups will happen weekly, and you will not be able to select a recurring time slot.
-
Testing will be offered in 15 minute blocks. You will need to arrive during that window of time to get your test.
-
When you register for your appointment, you will receive an email confirming both dates for the week, and the timeslot you chose. The email confirmation will contain a link for you to add your appointment to your google calendar.
Please remember that signing up for testing and getting your test twice a week is mandatory and something you all agreed to in the Community Compact. Failure to do so will result in your removal from campus housing.
Some good ways to remember your testing times and information:
-
Put testing in your calendar so you don’t forget. When you receive your confirmation email after signing up, there will be a link to add your time slot to your Google calendar.
-
Set an alarm on your phone to remind you to go to testing.
-
Tie testing to your meals so you go right before or after you get food, when you have already left your room.
-
Find a testing buddy in your hall. This helps you have accountability to each other, you can remind each other to go to testing and walk over together.
This testing protocol is intended to help us detect any concerns as early as possible and protect our community to the best of our ability. We greatly appreciate you following all campus health and safety measures. This individual and collective responsibility will help us mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and keep the Mount Holyoke community safe and strong.
To Reserve Study Space:
In order to monitor venue capacities and ensure physical distancing in student use spaces allocated for spring 2021, students will reserve locations using the campus space requests forms in the college's Event Management System, known as the EMSWebApp. Students can reserve study spaces in the library, academic buildings, as well as fitness equipment in the Kendall Fitness Center (during peak times) starting Monday, February 1, 2021.
Event Services oversees the administration of this system and assigns access after a new user logs-in. Therefore, all students need to login to the EMSWebApp for the first time by 5pm on Thursday, January 28, 2021, in order to ensure access and make reservations starting on February 1, 2021.
Policy and procedure information about the various locations will be included within the EMSWebApp in the “About” section of each reservation template, and should be read prior to making a reservation. This information will be posted within the site by Friday, January 29, 2021.
Reservations will be required for most spaces on campus. Students will be able to reserve individual study seats in the following locations:
