Curated by Assistant Professor Shakia Barron (Mount Holyoke College)
This workshop series allow our community, regardless of their dance experience or training, a creative mode to learn about and appreciate African diasporic cultures, whose contributions to contemporary dance are often underexplored. In a time when race is at the forefront of national conversations, RACE AND...Dance offers embodiment as a unique entrypoint for discussing race.
Funding provided by the South Hadley Cultural Council
Co-sponsored by Five College Dance and Mount Holyoke College's Division of Student Life, Office of Community and Belonging, and Cultural Centers.
