Join Queer Action Collection and ACT UP activists Alexis Danzig and BC for a workshop on Civil Disobedience for student activists! Lunch will be provided; please reach out to queeractioncollectivemhc@gmail.com with any allergens or dietary restrictions.

Since joining ACT UP in 1988, Alexis Danzig has helped to train hundreds of people to participate in principled, nonviolent direct action. After helping to co-found Rise and Resist in response to the 2016 election, Alexis has traveled to pro-democracy community organizations, offering free workshops so we can all become braver together in public.

BC Craig has been a social studies teacher and teacher educator in New York City for more than 30 years. As an activist, BC has been fighting for economic, social, and racial justice with groups such as ACT UP, JFREJ, and Rise and Resist, most recently through the organization of protests and as a trainer of nonviolent civil disobedience.

Accessibility information: This workshop will be held in person at the Jeanette Marks house, which is accessible through the second door via ramp. There will be food present with the potential for exposure to allergens. We encourage attendees to bring a lunch/snacks, being mindful of allergens. If you are sick, please do not attend the workshop. For any questions or accessibility requests, please reach out to QAC via email at queeractioncollectivemhc@gmail.com.
