This annual 2-day trip to Washington, D.C. features a reception with the D.C. Alum Association, site visit, panel and networking opportunities with alums who are inspiring examples of success in the areas of politics, policy, advocacy, and government, and whose work spans local initiatives to global world affairs.
This year's trip will take place on March 12 and 13. This is a free trip.
The Weissman Center and the Alum Association strive to provide access to our events for all interested participants. Please include accommodation requests on the application in the indicated section. For further information contact The Weissman Center at wcl@mtholyoke.edu to request accommodations. Accommodation requests made closer to the event but may not be possible to implement depending on the nature of the accommodation.
Please note that this event is expected to have amplified sound, low lighting and crowded venues that may be uncomfortable for some students. Climate control in some spaces is not guaranteed. Food will be served and allergens may be present:
Volume Levels: The audio played at this event may be at high volume levels, which could be uncomfortable for some attendees.
Hearing Protection: If you are sensitive to loud noises or have any hearing concerns, we recommend bringing earplugs or other hearing protection. If you would like to request to borrow a pair of over-the-ear noise canceling headphones. Please email student-involvement@mtholyoke.edu to reserve a pair. If you do not reserve hearing protection in advance, headphones and earplugs will be available at the point of check in on a first-come first-served basis.
Low Lighting: Portions of the event will be held in low lighting conditions. Please exercise caution as visibility may be reduced.
Crowd Density: Large crowds and busy environments can be stimulating. If you have difficulty with crowd-related sensory input, plan your visit accordingly and take breaks as needed.
Climate Control: Event venues will be climate controlled and physically accessible. Climate control on bussing and transportation may vary.
Allergens: Food will be served and there is the potential for allergens to be present. Allergens will be labeled accordingly.
