The SGA Students of Color Committee presents The Hortense Parker Museum 2021: Rewind and Reconnect. This museum is a continuation of a project presented by the board of SOCC in 2016. This summer we were inspired to continue this project as a means of introducing and reconnecting with our history at Mount Holyoke after the separation we experienced in the past year. We created a timeline of National and Global events we found influential to the lives of students of color over time. The highlight of our timeline is the history of students of color at Mount Holyoke. We focused on some of the amazing alums of color who have graduated from Mount Holyoke as well as the amazing student activism throughout time on our campus.

The exhibit will be open in the Student Art Gallery and Unity Center for one week starting on Oct 28th. The SOCC board has worked hard and we’re excited for you to see the results. Please take a moment to walk through the museum and read about some of our amazing history!
