SAW Discussion Practice Group

Join our weekly Discussion Practice Group and build your skills so you can confidently participate in class discussions. Work with SAW mentors and your peers on activities to build fluency, to prepare for class, and to become a more confident discussion participant. The best method for building discussion skills is to actively engage in discussions!

The group is open to all, but is particularly suitable for students who identify as second language speakers of English or who simply want to build their ability to maintain classroom level discussion. You are welcome to come every week, just once, or anywhere in between!

The group will be held in the Language & Culture Commons (LCC) Lounge, in the basement of Ciruti, which is a climate controlled and physically accessible space. Participants are allowed to bring their own food and drink. There is potential for allergens to be present.

The SAW Program strives to provide access to our programming for all interested participants. Please contact saw@mtholyoke.edu to request accommodations. We ask that requests for accommodations be made at least 48 hours in advance. Accommodation requests can be made closer to the event but may not be possible to implement depending on the nature of the accommodation.
