About the Books

Trail of Roots:

"Thomas guides the reader on a physical and emotional journey...These are poems rooted in America—with its landscapes of genocide, misogyny, homophobia...Thomas has brought us to a place of “wonder/and hallelujah, still breathing.” I will return here many times." -- Jennifer Martelli, author of The Queen of Queens

Leaving Paradise:

"Leaving Paradise is a book about the spaces in between, and about being in two places at once...For Gail Thomas, and she speaks for us all, ripe life sits beside life’s passing, and the parts of life we must shed to move forward."
Rebecca Hart Olander, author of Uncertain Acrobats

"Gail Thomas in her powerful book, Leaving Paradise, declaims in the title poem, “I chose wilderness” and readers will be thankful that she did...This is writing that matters!"
Howard Faerstein, author of Out of Order and Googootz
