We hope you all are well and safe. Please see below for more information about an updated re-recognition process as well as drop-in hours for meeting with a Student Involvement staff member to talk through any questions, ideas, or concerns you have for your student group.
Updated Recognition Process
Typically the annual re-recognition process opens in April and concludes on August 31st, when the registration form and 4 training modules must be submitted by each organization. This year the COVID-19 situation has changed the way students are able to gather and reside on campus and we want to simplify the process for our student groups.
For this academic year, we are requiring each organization to only complete the registration form and for 2 of their members to complete the RSO 101 training and associated quiz.
The registration form is important because it gives us the correct contact information for org officers, so that we can communicate important information to groups. It will help us connect new students to your organization who are interested and would like to join. Ultimately, it will help us maximize the Embark possibilities through our hybrid model.
The RSO 101 training provides important information and policies that every organization must know and follow. It also introduces you to the professional staff who can support you throughout the year. A reminder that we will work with your organization, if you need an extension or are concerned about the process please let us know.
We are no longer requiring the Event, Ways & Means, or Business Office training at this time.
When we learn more about the possibilities of events and funding, and what those will look like for this academic year, we will create training that is specific to the new guidelines and policies.
Only organizations who would want to pursue events and funding will be required to take these new trainings.
For org constitutions, instead of September 30th, we are extending the deadline until the end of the fall semester. We will provide guidance and templates to help groups write and update their constitutions.
For those officers who already took the training modules, thank you and we apologize for the extra work. You will not need to re-take RSO 101 or resubmit the registration form.
Starting next week, we will be offering drop-in opportunities to create space for you all to ask questions and guidance on your organization. We will continue drop-in hours into the fall semester. To sign-up to attend drop-in hours next week, Wednesday, July 22nd 4pm to 6pm EDT, please sign up through this link.
Thank you all so much for your dedication and hard work you put into strengthenin our community.
