This email serves as an update for annual events. This year, we will not be sending out any notifications of annual reservations to student groups. We are implementing this change for the 2020-2021 academic year. There are several reasons why this change must occur this year.
This is a good time to regroup and reevaluate your programming for this year. We do not want the expectation of a reserved date to prevent you from taking the time to properly plan your event in a virtual setting. We also recognize that not being in a physical space may mean the need to re envision how your annual takes place.
Now, more than ever, we are a global community. You may want to reassess your event times to accommodate time zones.
Many of the annual events are outside of community hours. We want as many community members to attend your events and utilizing community hours is a good way to do that.
It is important to us that you continue your traditions and yearly events to welcome new members and celebrate with your community, as well as the larger Mount Holyoke Community. We encourage you to reserve a virtual room through EMS as soon as you decide on dates and times for your events. Additionally, please continue to attend the available student group trainings, which are advertised at the bottom of this email.
