RSO Cohort Discussions and Resource Fair

 Cohorts
Mount Holyoke Office of Student Involvement

Hello Org Leaders!

Cohort Discussions

As part of Student Involvement’s cohort advising model, we are excited to share that the Student Involvement Consultants will lead cohort peer conversations where you’ll have an opportunity to discuss topics relevant to your RSO’s mission and interests. You’ll be able to share and learn from each other as you discuss your RSO’s culture, operations, challenges, and successes, facilitated by a Student Involvement Consultant.

Every RSO is part of a cohort with groups that share similar interests and goals. Many RSOs intersect with several cohorts, but we have assigned each to a primary cohort based on the group’s mission. If you think your RSO is in the wrong cohort, please email me at jdecaro@mtholyoke.edu.

The Student Involvement Consultants will email each cohort with an invitation and time to meet. They will also suggest discussion topics (such as low attendance at events, boards doing event planning work without participation from the general body, and collaboration opportunities), and invite participants to suggest others. If you can’t make your cohort’s session, it’s fine to attend another, though you may find the discussion topics in your cohort meeting are most relevant to you. Some sessions are not yet scheduled, and may be held in the Fall. All scheduled sessions will take place in the Blanchard Lounge, room 227.

Call to Participate in Experience MHC!

Admitted students are invited to campus April 6-7th for Experience MHC, their preview weekend, where they will have an opportunity to explore academic and co-curricular opportunities on campus.

On Sunday, April 6th, 4:30-5:30 PM, new admits will be invited to a Resource Fair, which is where you come in! Orgs are invited to table, similar to the Involvement Fair, but due to the large number of guests, Orgs will table by cohort instead of individually. We’ll have one table set up for each cohort, staffed by 3-6 students from different Orgs so our new admits will get a sense of how they can get involved on campus. This is also a fantastic opportunity to recruit new members!

If you are interested and can commit to tabling that day, please complete this form. We would like to feature as many Orgs as possible and may not be able to accommodate all interested.

If you have questions please email jdecaro@mtholyoke.edu. Thank you!

Best,
Jaime
Associate Director
