I hope all are well. Good luck with finals this week. As a reminder, at the end of this week into the following the Office of Community and Belonging will be hosting diversity, equity and inclusion training for student groups. We are requiring two officers from each organization to participate in these training sessions.
Accommodations and Additional Sessions:
Note, we will offer additional sessions in November and January. More information will be sent once these training days have concluded. For those boards transitioning leadership teams now, we will ask that your new board join us for November or January.
If you need an accommodation, for any reason, please email Student Involvement at email@example.com. We want to ensure that you are present and receiving the training, and we want to be mindful of your needs.
If you will be observing a religious holiday during the days of training offered and are unable to attend any of the sessions please let Student Involvement at firstname.lastname@example.org know, so that we can work with you and or prioritize your sign-up at the future sessions.
If you've already notified Student Involvement, there is no need to respond to this email.
As a reminder, these training sessions will be split up into two parts. These dates are only for part I, which will be a three hours long synchronous session. It will focus on skills for navigating difficult conversations, basic terminology, unconscious bias and microaggressions, macroaggressions, micro affirmations focus particularly on creating an antiracist organization and will include pre and post assignments. Please note, there will be breaks within the three hours.
