Hello Students,
Disability Services is the designated office at Mount Holyoke College that provides accommodations and support services for academics, housing, dining and on-campus employment to students with documented disabilities. Students are welcome to request accommodations at any point during their time at the College. However, students often find that establishing accommodations and connecting with DS before arriving on campus helps facilitate a smooth transition. There is a deadline for students who want to use approved housing accommodations for the Fall 2025 semester; please see the “Important Information About Housing Accommodations” section below for more information.
Please thoroughly review all of the information in this email and refer to our my.mtholyoke page for applying for accommodations (requires log in) for additional details on the accommodation request process. Disability Services’ my.mtholyoke pages also have additional information about our office, accommodations and additional resources such as assistive technology and our Disability Fellows program.

Registering with the office is a three-step process
|
|
-
Submitting a self-report:
-
Login to my.mtholyoke with your MHC credentials.
-
Go to the self-service menu.
-
Then, click on “Students.” Under that is “Requests & Applications.”
-
Providing Documentation from providers
-
In order to provide you with accommodations, appropriate documentation is needed.
-
Please review our Documentation Standards and Requirements to know what type(s) of documentation and information we need for you.
-
We will periodically verify documentation not given directly by a provider to Disability Services by contacting the associated office and/or provider.
-
Our office can receive documentation via:
-
Scheduling an Intake Appointment
-
After we have received your supporting documentation, Disability Services will email your Mount Holyoke College email to schedule your initial appointment with an Accommodation Coordinator. All first appointments with our office are called intakes and typically take an hour.
-
Appointments with Disability Services are available remotely via Zoom and in person on the third floor of Mary Lyon Hall.
-
If you are having difficulty identifying a time that fits with your schedule, please email disability-services@mtholyoke.edu with your full availability from 9 am to 4 pm eastern time, Monday through Friday, and we are happy to help identify a time that works for your schedule.

Important information about housing accommodations
|
|
|
To request accommodations related to a disability, you need to go through the accommodations process described above. For housing accommodations, you must complete all three steps and have your intake appointment with Disability Services by June 24 to be approved for Fall 2025.
If you are approved, you will fill out a form (in addition to the "New Student Housing Application") telling us how you would like your housing accommodation(s) to be implemented. There is no guarantee of placement due to available space(s).
Students approved for housing accommodations after June 24 will be placed on a waitlist and placement changes will be made as spaces become available. This may mean a move during the Fall 2025 semester.
