There is still time to register for our Summit on Women’s Leadership in Climate Justice and registration is free for all MHC students, faculty, and staff! Scheduled for April 13-15, 2023, the Summit is a welcoming space for all genders and non-binary people seeking to celebrate the accomplishments and vision of women in the field of climate justice. While there has been increased attention to the issue of climate change and climate justice over the past few years, the role women and non-binary people have played in this field deserves recognition. This three day event will provide opportunities to learn from leading global and local scholars, community organizers, and entrepreneurs including Dr. Katharine Hayhoe, Chief Scientist for the Nature Conservancy, Tamara Toles O’Laughlin, Founder of Climate Critical Earth, and  Kat Cadungog, Executive Director of the Foundation for Environmental Stewardship.

The Summit, hosted on Mount Holyoke College’s campus in South Hadley, Massachusetts, the ancestral land of the Nonotuck people, will feature intellectually engaging conversations with experts on the topics of climate refugees and migration, the built environment, innovation in sustainability, and the need for arts and humanities in the climate movement. In addition to keynotes and panels, we will be hosting an in-person networking reception, a student poster presentation and a SDGs LAB workshop with certification opportunities as part of the full Summit experience.

Registration for the full summit experience will close on April 6. For more detailed information about the Summit, check out the MHC Events Calendar listing.
