Interested in learning more about GitHub for work, school, or fun? Rose Sheehan ’22 and Delaney Fowler ’21 are back with CSSociety to help you improve your GitHub game. Topics include branching, merge conflicts, and add-ons like Git Cola. This workshop is best for those who have a basic understanding of GitHub, whether self-taught or from our last workshop. Sunday, April 18th, 12 PM EST See you there!

To get a slightly deeper understanding of all that GitHub has to offer, this workshop will dive into some more advanced topics. First up: branching. We’ll explore what it is, why it’s helpful, and when you should use it. Next on the docket: merge conflicts. We’ll work through an example of a merge conflict to show you how to resolve these, and why you might encounter them. Finally, we’ll look at some advanced commands and the user interface tool Git Cola.
