Through her organization, The Embodied Leadership Project, Jamila Jackson approaches the work of social justice, leadership and decolonization from an embodied, trauma-informed and ceremonial perspective. She will be speaking about the power of dance to reconnect us to one another and the earth - and making the point that dance is each person's birthright.

Speakers

Jamila Jackson

Jamila is an artist, facilitator and scholar who uses embodiment, storytelling and contemplative practices to build community and cultivate leadership development. Originally from the Bay Area, California, she attended Howard University for two years, received her BA from Hampshire College and her MFA from Wilson College. Her background in dance, cultural & community expressive arts, natural horsemanship and emotional and trauma release work has helped to shape the leadership model she offers through her work.
