Shaykha (Islamic teacher) Zehra Hazratji, who's also a MHC alumna, will talk about the inspiration for fasting during the month of Ramadan rooted in the Islamic texts. The event will begin with the breaking of the fast. Ifftar will be served.

Zehra Hazratji

Zehra Hazratji is currently enrolled in a Mufti training program with the Egyptian Fatwa Council (Dar Al-Ifta Al-Missriyya). She earned a Masters in Islamic Studies with a specialization in Contemporary Fiqh from Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar. She received her BA in Islamic Law from Al-Azhar University, Egypt as well as a BA in Islamic Studies from Mount Holyoke College. She has been an instructor at Mishkah University, USA since 2014. Zehra’s research interests include Islamic legal theory, contemporary fiqh issues, and matters related to women in Islam.
