Join us as we celebrate Pohela Boishakh, the Bengali New Year, with a vibrant and festive event embracing the rich traditions of Bengal through music, dance, art, and food. Experience the joy and energy of Bengali culture with live performances featuring traditional and contemporary songs and dances, interactive cultural activities such as crafts, and a taste of authentic Bengali cuisine, including , samosas, and mango lassi. Attendees are encouraged to wear red and white, the colors of Bengali New Year, to immerse themselves in the festive spirit. Pohela Boishakh marks a new beginning, a time for community, joy, and cultural pride, and we invite you to celebrate with us as we welcome the new year with hope and happiness. Shubho Noboborsho! (Happy New Year!) 🎉

Food will be available, including Bengali cuisine, which may contain common allergens such as nuts, dairy, and gluten—please check with organizers for specific concerns. The event will include music and performances, with potential for loud noises, but the environment will be well-lit with flashing lights. The venue is wheelchair accessible and climate-controlled, and seating will be available. While live captioning will not be provided, we are committed to making the event accessible to all. The event is expected to have a large turnout, so attendees should plan accordingly. For additional accommodations, please contact chakr25p@mtholyoke.edu , saha23s@mtholyoke.edu at least 48 hours in advance. Requests made closer to the event may not be possible to implement depending on the nature of the accommodation.
