Hello everyone,
All of you should have received this week’s Dean’s Corner which included additional information about submitting your COVID vaccination documentation by August 1st as well as housing and move-in updates for the coming semester. If you have not had a chance to read it yet, I encourage you to do so and make sure to note the various deadlines!
As part of the College’s preparation for the fall, all employees (faculty, staff, etc.) will also be required to be vaccinated and must submit their vaccination documentation by August 13th. You can learn more about the College’s vaccine mandate and documentation on the Opening the Gates site.
I am emailing you this weekend as the Professional Staff On-Call to let you know of some updates to the College’s masking and physical distancing requirements that will begin starting July 6th:
-
Until individuals are fully vaccinated, they will be required to mask when indoors and be tested as recommended by the Testing Center. More information regarding testing requirements for students and employees will be shared later this summer.
-
In alignment with state and CDC guidelines, physical distancing requirements will be lifted indoors on July 6, and we expect continued physical distancing for those who are not yet vaccinated.
-
In accordance with state guidelines, as of July 6 masks will no longer be required indoors in classrooms, labs, common spaces and shared offices for those students and employees who have documented their vaccinated status.
-
There will still be no eating allowed in common rooms within the residence halls.
-
-
Occupancy limits in elevators and bathrooms will be eliminated on July 6.
-
Any student or employee who is granted a vaccination exemption will receive instructions and guidance on testing and masking and generally be required to continue to wear a mask while inside College buildings.
-
Kendall Sports & Dance Complex, Williston Library and the Dining Commons will be accessible to vaccinated employees once documentation is provided.
If you would like to request that anyone from Facilities Management entering your residence hall room wear a face covering, please make sure to state that when you submit a TeamWorks request.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to the Division of Student Life at dean-students@mtholyoke.edu.
I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!
Alicia
