Dear Students:
We wanted to provide you some important information for November, December and January Breaks. Please take some time to read through this important information, and note that additional details about COVID-19 testing protocols for re-entry to campus for all students will be shared soon.
November Break Housing Registration: Available on my.mtholyoke.edu
Registration is now open for those students remaining on campus during the November Break. Students can remain on campus during the break, but must register with the Office of Residential Life. When completing the form please check all nights that you will be on campus. Information regarding break services is in the process of being updated and will be found on our website under Break Housing/November Break.
The registration deadline is November 19, 2021
December Break Housing Registration: Available on my.mtholyoke
December break housing is only open for domestic and international students whose permanent home address is abroad and for students who have hardship getting or going home. There is a $380 fee to stay on campus during this break between December 14-January 2. This is a flat fee and will be charged to those staying for any part or all of December Break. All students wishing to stay for December Break must register via my.mtholyoke. You will be notified via email about your eligibility and approval. Students approved to stay on campus will be able to stay in their rooms and dining will be open during limited hours every day. The fee will cover meals, heating and limited building housekeeping.
Should you wish to add the December break housing cost to the Spring 2022 payment plan, please contact SFS at sfs@mtholyoke.edu. Students who have MHC as their permanent address (due to homelessness, a ward of the state, independent status, etc) or are considered low-income or high-need can apply to a housing specific safety net fund to help support the costs of December Break. This form will be available on November 5, 2021. The Safety Net Fund reviewing process will be in collaboration with SFS to review eligibility.
Please note that students going on leave, withdrawing, finishing in December or returning from leave are NOT eligible to stay on campus for any breaks before or after their leave. For example, if you are studying abroad in the Fall semester (August-December), you are not eligible to return to campus for the December Break or January Intersession that follows your leave and must plan to return when the halls open prior to when the Spring semester starts in January.
Other guidelines regarding housing during December Break are still in effect. I have bulleted those rules below.
- Students are expected to continue to adhere to College policies and the Community Compact.
- There will be no guests allowed in the residence halls during December or January Intersession.
The registration deadline is Wednesday, December 1, 2021.
