In honor of Latinx Heritage Month, join Sasha Jimenez, Community Outreach Manager for Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, in a presentation about the historical and cultural factors affecting Latinx views on reproductive health, bodies, and values. Topics explored include the sterilization of Puerto Rican women, the concept of marianismo, and the coming of age ideology in quinceañeras. A Q&A will follow the workshop.

Sasha N. Jimenez is from Springfield, Mass -  born and raised in the North End to a Puerto Rican mother and a Dominican father. Sasha has always been passionate about social justice and systemic change. She currently works for Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, where she is the Community Outreach Manager, and provides education to communities around Western Massachusetts. She also manages the HIV Prevention Initiative in Springfield; working on lowering new infection rates among POC -- specifically the MS population. Jimenez attended Smith College, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. As a first-generation college graduate, Sasha is very passionate about sexual education, and empowering the Latino/a/x community in all ways.
