Honoring the Ancestor, Gloria Anzald├║a: Joy, Love, Laughter and Latinx Literature: A Community Gathering

As part of Latinx Heritage Month, we will pay homage to Gloria Anzald├║a, a self-described "chicana dyke-feminist, tejana patlache poet, writer, and cultural theorist," whose literary works transformed feminist theory and opened the door for radical writings of feminists of color. This interactive informal gathering is an annual event hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion where we gather together to read from great poets, artists, activist scholars, and more.

We invite all artists and art enthusiasts to join this special tribute to Queer and Trans Black, Indigenous and People of Color artists. This year's special guest facilitator is Dr. Diana Alvarez, a singer, songwriter, poet, composer, filmmaker, and scholar who will lead the event and share songs from her heart.
