During this 90 minute interactive workshop, Dr. Yolanda Lenzy, board-certified dermatologist specializing in medical, surgical and cosmetic skin and hair care for adults and children will provide "Tips for navigating both
skin and hair for people of color"
• Budget-friendly tips for ensuring healthy skin and hair
• Holistic ways to care for your skin and hair
• Skin and hair dealing with common issues, medical diagnoses, and treatment options with particular emphasis on achieving healthy skin and hair
• And attendees will be provided with healthy skin and hair tips graphic/handout for their continual review.

Healthy snacks for skin and hair will also be provided.
Food Provided (Snacks which promote healthy skin and hair will be provided.)

Yolanda Lenzy

Dr. Yolanda Lenzy, a Washington, DC native, is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in medical, surgical, and cosmetic skin and hair care for adults and children. Her research and clinical practice focus on hair and scalp disorders and skin disease in skin of color. She received her medical degree from the University of Maryland, her Master’s in Public Health from Harvard University and her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Health Promotion from American University, where she

graduated with top honors. She completed her Dermatology Residency in the Boston University/Tufts University Combined Dermatology Residency Program. Prior to college, Dr. Lenzy trained in cosmetology and has been a licensed cosmetologist for over 20 years. Her background as a hair stylist

fueled her passion to focus her career on optimizing care for the hair and scalp from a medical perspective. Dr. Lenzy has participated in numerous studies on photo-aging, psoriasis, and various causes of hair loss, including partnering with local hair salons to educate stylists on ways to help prevent styling induced hair loss. Her work has culminated into her newly published book, Getting to the Root: A Dermatologist’s and Cosmetologist’s Guide to Understanding HAIR! She has authored numerous publications for academic journals, book chapters and nationally

distributed patient education materials. She has presented her research to the World Congress of Dermatology in Cairns, Australia and Edinburgh, Scotland, the National Medical Association, and the Skin of Color Society. Dr Lenzy is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American

Hair Research Society, Women’s Dermatological Society, the Skin of Color Society, and the National Medical Association’s Dermatology Section. Dr Lenzy is a Clinical Associate to UConn Health Department, University of Connecticut. She is sensitive to issues of multi-ethnic skin and is committed to providing her patients personalized care. Dr. Yolanda Lenzy is the Clinical Director and Owner of Lenzy Dermatology, PC in Chicopee, Massachusetts.
