Let's celebrate the start of a new academic year with staff and student leaders affiliated with Community and Belonging! Together, we will learn about their mission and plans for the year.

Community and Belonging are comprised of the Cultural Centers and the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life (ORSL). These are safe places for the purposes of support, education, networking, and sanctuary. They host programming and provide resources to increase cultural awareness and inter-connectedness. There are also affiliated student organizations for each space that host meetings, open-hours, programs, and social events.

You will have the chance to enter the Zoom breakout rooms representing each space:

The Unity Center is a space for those who gather to feel comfortable and sufficiently empowered to explore questions like: "who I am, who do I want to be, and who do others think I am, and want me to be?"

The Office of Religious and Spiritual Life includes the Eliot House, which bursts with students, faculty, and staff who attend the many programs, lunches, workshops, services, feasts, and festivals that are held there.

The Eliana Ortega, known as the "Ortega" serves as a home away from home for students who self-identify as Latinx.

The Asian Center for Empowerment, commonly known as the "ACE", serves as a space that provides support to Asian, Asian American, and South Asian students.

The Betty Shabazz, commonly known as the "Betty", assists and supports students who identify as African, African American, and Caribbean.

The Jeannette Marks Center, commonly known as "the Marks House," serves the community identifying as sexual and gender minorities as well as their allies.

The Zowie Banteah Cultural Center, commonly known as "the Zowie", promotes visibility and empowerment for Indigenous American cultures.
