Learn what it really means to be “green” with the help of the Miller Worley Center for the Environment! Using practical tools like the zero waste hierarchy and circular economy strategies, attendees will learn how to design events, choose materials, and engage members in ways that reduce waste, foster inclusivity, and promote equity. Through collaborative brainstorming, we’ll “green” a core event or program and create a checklist to keep the momentum going. After working with the MWCE, RSOs will leave with concrete ideas, actionable steps and a deeper understanding of how their organization can drive both environmental and social change.
This program is part of the Spark and Lead Workshop series.
The workshop is in the Blanchard Lounge, room 227, on the main floor near the Skinner entrance. The floor is accessible by a ramp on the Skinner Green side or by elevator from the first floor. 227 is a modular space featuring furniture that can be rearranged as needed. There are no desk-height tables in the space. There is a screen that can be used for presentations and other media viewing.
The Office of Student Involvement strives to provide access to our events for all interested participants. Please contact student-involvement@mtholyoke.edu to request accommodations. We ask that requests for accommodations be made at least 48 hours in advance, but we will make every effort to meet accommodation requests at any time.
